MEETING MINUTES
June 9, 2015
Call to Order
Club President, Lanny Six called to order the regular meeting of the GHS Touchdown Club at 7:35 PM, on June 9, 2015, at the Nathanael Greene Community Center, Guilford, CT.
Roll Call
Jackie Kronengold, Michele Robertino, Sebastian Derda, Alex Conover, Lanny Six, Chris Jankura, Stephanie Moscato, Doug Downer, Paula Downer, Coach Eagle and Sandra Gabriel were in attendance.
The following materials were distributed: Meeting Agenda, Meeting Minutes dated May 10, 2015, Guilford Indians Football -2015-16, Treasurers’ Report, Template for Home Game Flyer with levels of contributors.
Officer’s Reports
Secretary’s Report: Meeting Minutes from May 10, 2015. The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed. A motion was made to accept the minutes with revisions and was unanimously agreed upon.
Treasurer’s Report: Fundraising revenue (deposits) as well as withdrawals reviewed for fundraising events: Meet and Greet, Car Wash, 50/50 Raffle, Scholarship fund, Spirit Wear, Field Equipment, Lineman’s Challenge. A motion was made to accept the Treasurer’s report and was unanimously agreed upon.
Vice President’s report: There was no VP report.
President’s report: There was no President’s report.
Coach’s report: The high school has made arrangements for the team to have summer strength and conditioning at Mangino Strength & Conditioning on Mondays and Thursdays. Coach Eagle will be in attendance from 7:15 AM, as well as Rob from Mangino and Danny Ives, are helping the coach. The schedule is 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM for sophomores and juniors and 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM for freshmen and seniors. Tuesdays and Fridays the team will have practice on the field at the high school beginning at 8:00 AM.
June 22 – Last day weight room may be used.
June 29 – Passing League (opening night) at Hand. Tentative time is 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Participants: New Haven, Morgan, Guilford and some college students.
July 13 – Weight room demolished.
Practice sessions for the 2015-2016 will begin, Monday, August 17. Coach Eagle will provide that schedule. Team will report on the field at 4:00 PM. Saturday will be double sessions and Sundays will be off. Once the school year begins, practice will start at 4:30 PM.
Setting a freshman team schedule, JV games, as well as the 6th Quarter Rule and the 50 point rule were discussed.
July 18 – Lineman’s Challenge in Berlin. One team with 8-10 competitors will be participating. Parents have been asked to attend.
Lineman’s camp: Coach will send out emails.
New Business:
Michele Robertino’s report – Meet and Greet wrap up. Michelle also received the quotes for the yard signs. The quote expires on June 12th. It is recommended that the sale of the signs begins after July 4. Other fundraising initiatives were discussed.
