This past football season was an exciting chapter of Guilford Football. There were many ups and downs, highlights and exciting plays. We had double overtime, last minute drives, offensive explosions and more.
The past season was also an exciting one for many Guilford Football alumni who are participating in college athletics. Bryce Brown (class of 2007) capped a remarkable college career by leading Western New England University to the school's best record ever and a first ever berth in the Division 3 playoffs. He set numerous offensive records as their quarterback the past two seasons and truly left his mark. Please click on the attached link to get more Bryce Brown info. Also, Mark Devlin (class of 2008) played linebacker at Western New England and was one of the team's leading tacklers helping the team reach new heights.
Below are some links to see the great accomplishments including their 4th quarter comeback in their league title game led by Guilford’s own Bryce Brown.
Dan Lamberton (class of 2007) wrapped up a great career at Southern Connecticut State University this past fall. SCSU is a Division 2 power and Dan was a dominant defensive lineman who had a great career. Dan made his conference all rookie team as a freshmen and was a great leader for the Owls being named game captain on more than one occasion this past season. Dan was a 2 year all conference player for the Indians and was also a very good wrestler. Dan and Bryce were co-captains their senior year as well. Also finishing his football career this year was Mark Demaio (class of 2008) at Salve Regina University. Mark was a captain for the Indians his senior year and has helped with our summer strength and conditioning program as well.
Other Indians playing football include Jon Criscuolo (class of 2009) at Bridgewater State College in MA. Jon is a junior quarterback and saw game action this past season. AJ and Kevin Leary (class of 2009) are sophomores on the Hofstra lacrosse team and are poised for big seasons this spring. Fred Turcio (class of 2008) is a senior lacrosse player at Catawba College in North Carolina. Fred was named captain of his team prior to his junior season and had the opportunity to play lacrosse in Europe over the summer. Fred was a co-captain in 2007 for the Indian football team and he brings his football mentality to his college lacrosse team. Also, Aaron Davis (class of 2009) plays lacrosse for Drew University. Aaron was an all conference and all state player and captain for the Indians football team. Eric Mueller (class of 2008) is an offensive lineman at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Another athlete is Mike Ficorilli (class of 2010) who competes in the throwing events at Central Connecticut State University. Mike was a captain, all league player and all state for the Indians as an offensive lineman.
Ethan Curry (class of 2011) just completed his freshmen season at Endicott College and Mike Milano (class of 2011) completed his freshmen campaign at Bridgewater State College this past fall. Ethan is playing QB and Mike is an offensive lineman. Also, Andrew McCloskey (class of 2011) is an offensive lineman at Wesleyan University.
Guilford Football has many alumni playing sports in college. These student athletes did well not only on the sports field but they had the opportunity to continue sports due to excellence in the classroom. We are proud of their accomplishments and if you know of former players I have missed feel free to email me some information.
