MEETING MINUTES

December 10, 2015

Call to Order:  Club President, Lanny Six called to order the regular meeting of the GHS Touchdown Club at 7:02 PM, on December 10, 2015 at the Nathanael Greene Community Center, Guilford, CT.

Roll Call:  Chris Jankura, Lanny Six, Jackie Kronengold, Paula Downer, Sebastian Derda, Stephanie Moscato, Jill Hilgert

The following materials were distributed: Meeting minutes, treasurer’s report dated December 10, 2015, banquet and fundraising deposits/withdrawals spreadsheets.  The meeting agenda was written on the chalk board.

Officer’s Reports

Secretary’s Report:  The meeting minutes from November 10, 2015:  The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed.  A motion was made to accept the minutes.

Treasurer’s report – Banquet spreadsheet.  Banquet attendance and payments discussed.  Gift card for Eagle’s wife approved.  Our fundraising efforts for the year were successful.

Concession Stand:  A list needs to be compiled so the Board for FY 2016 can begin to think about the needs of the concession stand:  Equipment to be repaired and purchased, etc.

The membership discussed possible purchases the club could make:  the concession stand needs a new commercial-grade popcorn machine, warmer and stove.  Alex Conover knows someone that can donate a stove.  Various pieces of equipment need to be serviced or replaced.  Treasurer Derda will make a list of items that need to be repaired and/or purchased.  The club believes the high school should purchase a new waterboy.  Treasurer Derda’s list will be presented to Athletic Director, Jake Jarvis after President Six consolidates the list of items that need to be purchased.  They will be considered capital expenditures:  new equipment, etc.

Banquet:  Regarding presentations during the Banquet, Coach Eagle wants the players to be presented by squad.  Order of banquet:  President Six  – Welcome, acknowledge guests and say a few words and recognize the members of the TD Club board.

Coach Eagle Jr. will speak and basically MC the rest of the program.  Coach Eagle Sr. will give the invocation and blessing before dinner is served. The squad order or the presentation ceremony will be as follows:  FR, JV, Varsity squads, then senior gifts from the TD Club and senior gifts from Coach Eagle Sr.  There will be four season awards presented and closing statements. Dessert will be served during the awards ceremony.

By-laws:  The meeting participants agreed to table the By-Laws till 2016.  Since it was the last meeting of 2015, the new 2016 Board should make the necessary changes to the By-Laws, if any.

Nominations/elections:  There were no new volunteers for positions on the TD Club Board.  Treasurer Derda has volunteered to remain the treasurer.
